Get your Company active in 2012 with the Olympic Torch Relay Walking Challenge
We all know that 2012 is the year the Olympic and Paralympic Games are coming to the UK.
Excitement is building as the games grow ever nearer and anticipation grows!
Well here’s your company’s chance to add to that feeling while at the same time increasing workforce morale, improving staff fitness and HAVING FUN!
We’re inviting you to join the ever increasing number of businesses and organisations who are signing up to the Olympic Torch Relay Walking Challenge!
The Walking Challenge operates by having teams (usually of 5) issued with pedometers and then a race to see which team can walk the Torch Relay Route in the quickest time, a distance of 1500 miles!
In the past the Walking Challenge has worked successfully with a marked decrease in use of office elevators and a marked increase in staff walking to work and conducting post meal walks in the fresh air! It has also stimulated some good natured competition between staff and work teams and attracted very positive media publicity for the host organisations involved!
In order to record and score the Walking Challenge, a website has been created. Here individual teams can log in and input their steps/distances walked, keep track of their progress, view thumbnail commentaries on opposing teams and browse other opportunities for gentle physical activity challenges!

The winning teams will be put into categories – mobile and office based – and the winning team in each category will receive £125 worth of vouchers.
So don’t waste time sign up today and see who will be first in the race to the finish line!
You can start logging your mileage or steps from Monday 5th March.
Have fun and enjoy!
