The 2012 Premier League Darts will revisit the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle on Thursday 10th May 2012 as part of a 15-week roadshow as Britain’s biggest indoor sporting event returns.
The tournament, featuring the world’s top eight darts players, will visit Britain and Ireland’s leading arenas on 15 successive Thursdays, as the likes of reigning champion Gary Anderson and the legendary Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor do battle for the £125,000 first prize.
"The tournament takes the sport's top players to all four corners of the UK and next year we're also excited to be visiting Dublin for our debut at The O2,” said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"We welcomed a record number of fans to the event earlier this year and are looking forward to seeing the Premier League Darts grow further in 2012."
The field of eight players will be confirmed in January following the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship, with the top four players from the PDC Order of Merit joined by four Wildcards.
Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, James Wade and Gary Anderson currently occupy the top four places in the PDC Order of Merit, ahead of Simon Whitlock and Raymond van Barneveld.
The likes of Wes Newton - who reached the Speedy Hire UK Open final in June - World Championship semi-finalist Mark Webster and Paul Nicholson, the 2010 Players Championship Finals winner, are amongst a host of top PDC players chasing a place in the tournament next year.
