EAT! NewcastleGateshead is a slap-up festival of adventures in food and will be back from Friday 17– Sunday 26 June 2011 with a new programme of events. The Big EAT! Weekend takes over the streets and squares of NewcastleGateshead on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June with another huge celebration of North East food and drink – this year introducing a great programme of events our new Chocolate Festival.
There are 15 Secret Paladares to choose from including lots of new themes, don't miss the 1980s Mum's Tea, a quirky twist on the convenience meals you remember from your childhood, or the Scottish Paladar featuring fantastic produce from just North of the border.
One of our most popular events, Cakebook, will also return and this year we’re building a giant edible map of the North East and Yorkshire for you to picnic around at Gibside. The baking is already underway and you can get involved by visiting www.cakebook.org.
