Northern Stage (formerly Newcastle Playhouse) is the largest producing theatre company in the North East of England, and is regarded one of the top-ten UK producing theatres.

Northern Stage celebrates its 40th birthday in 2010. The theatre is exactly where it always has been; it's just a bit more hidden now. It's two minutes walk from Haymarket Metro, behind the new Newcastle University building (King's Gate).
