ST JAMES’ PARK KICKS SUNDAY LUNCH INTO TOUCH WITH A NEW MENU AND MINI TOUR…

FAMILIES can enjoy fine food and a trip around one of the world’s most famous football grounds with a new Sunday lunch package at St James’ Park.

Sodexo Prestige, which manages the conference and banqueting facilities at the Newcastle United ground, has launched a food and football programme on Sundays from noon until 2pm to make dining a unique experience for visitors of all ages.

Diners can choose from an updated table d’hote menu while children, who are each given free colouring sheets, take their pick of dishes from a specially created children’s menu – and after lunch they can all enjoy a mini tour of the famous stadium.

Adults can choose either two courses at £13.95 per person or three courses at £16.95 per person from the table d’hote menu, which combines a selection of traditional roasts with vegetarian options, starters and main courses.

Starters, such as smoked salmon rillette, minestrone soup and ham hock and black pudding terrine, can be followed by roast rib eye of Northumbrian beef, roasted loin of pork, beer battered cod steak with hand cut chips or sautéed gnocchi with Stilton, peas, spinach and cream.

Sweet-toothed diners can then opt for puddings such as fresh fruit salad, home made orange and treacle tart, plum and pear crumble or ice cream before rounding off their meal with coffee and special Newcastle United mints.

General Manager Frankie Angus said: “Here at St James’ Park we are well known for catering for large events such as gala dinners and Mothers’ Day – but now every Sunday can be a special occasion.

“This is an iconic venue and our new Sunday lunch package is great value as it combines lunch created by our award-winning chefs with a mini tour of one of the most famous football grounds in the country.”

St James’ Park boasts a number of free, on-site parking spaces and diners are advised that Sunday lunches are not available on days when Newcastle United is playing at home.

Booking is advisable and a deposit is required for parties of eight or over.
